Be Alert When Engaging with Jodhpuri Galax – Council
August 18, 2022
Consumers are urged to exercise extreme vigilance when dealing with Jodhpuri Galax; an overseas based trader operating via social media platforms Facebook and Viber. This advisory comes in light of numerous complaints and social media tip-offs whereby consumers were left out-of-pocket after making payments to the said company.
Consumer Council of Fiji (CCoF) Chief Executive Officer, Ms Seema Shandil says the social media operator has been taking deposits from consumers and failing to supply goods. In one of the cases lodged at the Council, a customer ordered a lehenga worth $158 in January 2022. However, almost 8 months have passed and the trader has not made the delivery yet.
“These incidents are a stark reminder to all Fijians to always conduct background checks of online businesses that have very little to no information publicly available before engaging with them,” added Ms Shandil.
Consumers can verify the legitimacy of social media operators by checking whether or not the trader has a physical address, valid contact details and full name of the person(s) that operate the business. It is crucial for consumers to deal with only reputable online traders to avoid being ripped off.
