CONSUMER ALERT: Be Wary when engaging with “Computer Hub”
December 15, 2022
Consumers are once again being urged to exercise extreme caution when engaging with the “Computer Hub”, which specializes in retail and purchase of refurbished computers, laptops and related accessories.
The bulk of complaints against the Computer Hub relate to the sale of faulty products to consumers whereby laptops, computers and other accessories malfunctioned or developed issues soon after purchase. The company is also providing computer repair services however, complaints lodged at the Council reflect those repairs are conducted in a very shoddy manner without the existing issues being rectified. In addition, a new stream of complaints which is now evolving against the trader, is that now he is purchasing used computers and other accessories from consumers however, fails to pay for the said items despite numerous false assurances.
Whilst the Council is not stopping consumers from engaging with the Computer Hub, this advisory is being issued so that consumers are cautious and make an informed decision.
Consumers who have been sold faulty products by the company are urged to lodge complaints with the Council through toll-free number 155 or email complaints@consumersfiji.org. Alternatively, consumers can lodge complaints via the Consumer Council of Fiji Mobile App.
