The Consumer Council of Fiji’s fundamental aim is to promote and safeguard the interests of consumers stipulated under the Consumer Council of Fiji Act – 1976.



 The applicant will promote the services of the National Consumer Helpline. He/she will be required to plan, coordinate and execute campaigns and awareness raising programs.  Develop awareness and publicity materials and also disseminate information through mass media.  Write press releases on key consumer issues; Encourage consumers to use NCH; Assist consumers in resolving complaints with traders and service providers. A degree in Journalism or English Language with a flair for creative writing or a related field is required. At least 4 years of demonstrated experience in information dissemination, education or awareness work is essential. Good knowledge of consumer issues nationally and internationally; Experience in online communications; Extensive experience in copywriting and proofreading; Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate fluently in English and Hindi. Salary:  $26,576 - $38,727.



 The primary responsibilities for the role include: Enter, record, maintain and produce complaints registry and database of the Council on daily basis; Maintain Manual Registry; Provide statistics and reports on request in a timely manner; Provide effectively any information stored at the registry upon request of the Council; Assist in complaints management and resolution as directed by the Manager. At least possess a Diploma level qualification in Computer or Electronic Registry or Database Management. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in data entry and data management, maintenance and information storage (manual and electronic) is desirable; Good IT skills are required; Maintaining good filing system and manual registry; Have good oral and written communication skills and able to work under minimum supervision;

 Salary Level: $18,783 – $24,180.  The contract will be for 3 years subject to renewal based on good performance.



 The primary responsibilities for the role include: effective communication across the organisation, providing HR advice, coaching and support; Review Council’s policies; Recruitment and selection; Employment relations and performance management; Advise on employment laws and Council's own employment policies and procedures; Identify and assess training and development needs and oversee the training programme. Candidates must possess a Degree in Human Resources/Industrial Relations/Public Administration & Management/Business Administration or a related field. A minimum of 4 years post degree proven experience in human resources. Mediation and Tribunal experience with successful outcomes; Knowledge of Employment Relations Act, Regulations and disciplinary procedures is essential. Strong problem solving and disputes/crisis management skills. Applicants should have excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

 Salary Level: $22,900 – $30,577.  The contract will be for 4 years subject to renewal based on good performance.
