The Consumer Council of Fiji’s fundamental aim is to promote and safeguard the interests of consumers stipulated under the Consumer Council Act -1967 (Cap 235). 

MEDIA OFFICER (HINDI) – SUVA OFFICE 

The successful applicant will be required to plan, coordinate and execute campaigns and awareness raising programs; develop awareness and publicity materials and disseminate information through mass media; write press releases and feature articles on key consumer issues; conduct mobile units, community and school visits; provide advisory services to consumers on products and services; update the Council’s website; and have the ability to communicate fluently in English and Hindi. A person who has flair for creative writing; has extensive experience in proof reading and good analytical skills; and has passion in consumer protection and consumer justice is what the Council is looking for. 

A Degree in in Journalism and mass media communications; Law; Education, Social Science, Economics or Development Studies is appropriate. A minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in related field. Must have the ability to read, write and speak in Hindi. Experience in online communications; excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate fluently in English language is essential. Salary Level: $22,900- $30,577. The contract will be for 3 years subject to renewal based on good performance.

CONSUMER HELPLINE OPERATOR – SUVA OFFICE 

The successful applicant will be required to: deliver consumer helpline service; respond as quickly and efficiently as possible to requests for assistance and giving appropriate guidance to the complainants; assess and provide appropriate referral of complaints for investigation; ensure compliance with helpline policies and procedures; maintain accurate records as required. 

A Diploma in Office Administration or Secretarial Studies and Customer Services or Applied Computing or Electronic Registry or Database Management is required. A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience is required. Must be proficient in desk management, Microsoft office and IT skills. Must have excellent customer service attributes. Excellent written and spoken communication skills is also essential. Salary Level: $10,595- $14,723. The contract will be for 3 years subject to renewal based on good performance.
