Consumers furious on limited purchase of Rewa Life Milk [White Packet]

The Consumer Council of Fiji is concerned about limited stock of Rewa Life 1 litre (White Pkt) milk sold in some supermarkets with three major supermarkets completely without the product. Most corner shops also had no Rewa Life Milk.

This was revealed in a survey of Suva Nasinu area conducted by the council yesterday. The limited stock prompted traders to place limits on the sale of Rewa Life per customer.

It is very disturbing and frustrating for Hindus particularly to face this situation during their festive season as milk is an essential item used to make sweets and food. Milk is also used in prayers.

The Council continues to receive complaints from frustrated consumers who face difficulty in finding Rewa Life Milk in corner stores, on supermarket shelves or are told to buy only limited amount.

This is not the first time consumers are experiencing this difficulty. Similar shortages were faced in August and February this year.

The Council is calling on Fiji Dairy Limited (FDL) to exercise its corporate social responsibility in ensuring that essential dairy products supply meets consumer demand after all most of the milk is imported.

There is also a need for Fiji Dairy Limited to give a specific timeline as to when the supply is expected to normalize and the cause of the shortage.
