Strengthening Consumer Rights in Fiji through Advocacy and Enforcement of Consumer Protection Laws

 

 In May 2009, Council secured about $F 520,000 from the European Union (EU) for the project Strengthening Consumer Rights in Fiji through Advocacy and Enforcement of Consumer Protection Laws. This project is for 3 years targeting all consumers in Fiji. The aims of the EU project are to educate and inform consumers, regulators, business communities and other stakeholders on the importance of consumer rights and responsibilities which are essential for empowering consumers and to review the consumer protection laws and redress mechanisms in Fiji to make it more effective.
